Why did you decide to come and work for ZELTWANGER?
I came back to Tübingen qualified as a skilled toolmaker in 2002 after three years in Africa, and I was looking for a company which would best help me return to my career. Nothing stuck in the mud but rather a company which keeps at the forefront of progress.

I have always been a milling enthusiast. And I've always been interested in challenges, in quality and further development. Just not standing still. The whole company and the high standard of expertise I encountered amongst people I talked to here convinced me that I had come to the right place at ZELTWANGER.

What makes you happiest at the moment?
The daily challenge of producing parts which ensure everything fits together perfectly. The demands have stepped up even more, particularly over the past couple of years.

Some of the parts we are producing today we would have considered impossible ten years ago. But this has a lot to do with the fact that we always work with the very latest machines or control systems, such as the new DMG 80P duo block or the new Siemens 840 D control system.

What are the particular goals that drive you?
What drives me is the goal of improving quality and processes - and how this can be done given the enormous day-to-day time pressures. One way of achieving this goal would certainly be more regular meetings which would allow everyone to put forward their improvement suggestions.
